Onur ÜNAL

Onur Ünal graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law. In 1999 he obtained the title of Trademark and Patent Attorney, followed by that of European Patent Attorney. After his legal studies he completed his traineeship under the esteemed İsmail Acar, a past President of the Bursa Bar Association.

Onur Ünal, who founded Onur Law Office in 2000, taught courses on "Commercial Enterprise and International Trade" and worked as a lecturer at the Uludağ University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 2003. Between 2001 and 2003 he was an elected member of the Young Board of the Bursa Bar Association.

In 2008 he successfully completed the LL.M. Master's Programme in Economic Law (with thesis) at Istanbul Bilgi University. His thesis, "Patent Hukukunda İstemler" (Claims in Patent Law), was later also published as a book.

In 2009 he studied in the ALP programme at Columbia University Law School in New York, as part of its doctoral programme.

Onur Ünal has served as a Working Group Member of URTEB (International Competition and Technology Union), Head of the Design Group of UPB (International Patent Union), a UÇM member of the DNS Working Group on Internet Domain Names, Chairman of the Legal and Statutes Commission of the TÜGİAD (Young Businessmen Association of Türkiye) head office, and a member of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board of TÜGİAD Bursa. He is still an honorary member of TÜGİAD, and a member of MDD (Friends of the Kitchen Association) and BYK (Bursa Sailing Club).

He has spoken at universities, at symposia and on television and radio. In 2025 the Bursa Bar Association honoured him with a plaque for his 25th year in the profession. Having trained more than fifty trainee lawyers, he has played a part in the education of young colleagues and helped many talented lawyers go on to serve Türkiye. He remains actively engaged at Onur Law Office, where, together with his team, he continues to provide legal and advisory services to national and international companies with a commitment to creating value.
